Lot 62: CD 136 B & O [060]  Color: Ice Green w/ Bubbles  Description: While one can see a little "fizz" in the glass, what stands out are 4 larger bubbles which are up to 1/2" long. Some smaller bubbles are also present. 1/8" wire ridge flake in the rear, BB ding by the right mold line, otherwise easily very near mint. Some "B & O" insulators were made by Brookfield, but this example was clearly produced by Hemingray: note the DEC.19.1871 patent date. At the annual meeting of the Baltimore & Ohio Telegraph Company in 1884, it was reported that the system represented 6,886 miles of poles and 47,417 miles of wire. A nice example of this style!  UPDATE: Extended damage report: View 3 shows a little crazing on the dome, view 4 shows a 1/8" flake on the wire ridge above the "P," and view 5 shows the BB ding, a little less than 1/4" in diameter. These photos are not color corrected but darker to try and show the damage more clearly.
