CD 1038 CUTTER, Aqua; Rubbing in the wire groove we have never seen!
View:  Main (LargeView 2 (Large)
Lot 150: CD 1038 CUTTER [030]  Color: Aqua  Description: About half of the wire groove is buffed smooth from the wire rubbing in it. We haven't seen one like this before. This indicates the insulator was functioning just as intended, leaving the wire free to move about freely as the tree swayed in the wind. The insulator is very crudely made and it's hard to tell what is post-factory damage; however, there is a 1/2" by 1" slice on the side next to a 1" bruise. The embossing on the top is very strong. This insulator has led a rough life from the moment it left the factory and from years of use but we do find the smooth rubbing in the wire groove rather unusual and interesting, and the strong embossing adds to its appeal!
