Lot 48
Price Realized: $132
Lot 48: CD 124.3 DEC. 19, 1871 [020] Color: Light Green Aqua Description: Both CD 124.2 and CD 124.3 have risen significantly in value as collectors recognize the rarity of these styles. A convenient way to differentiate the two CD numbers is that the CD 124.3 has only one ridge. 1 1/2" flake/chip on the rear base, 3/8" by 1" sliver on the front skirt, a fracture around the top of the pinhole. One of the few styles of insulators produced by Hemingray that have the mold line around the base "SB" as well as the mold line across the base "MLOB". Pair this with the CD 124.2 in lot 47 for a classic duo! A very desirable early No 4 Hemingray telegraph style! Estimate: $75 - $100 Open: $1 Price Realized: $132 |
