Lot 53: CD 135.5 E.R.W. [010] Color: Light Blue Aqua Description: A big, imposing "hat!" This is a unique shape for a threaded insulator, and one that is rarely seen! Boldly embossed "E.R.W." for the Erie Railway, these insulators were used on the main line, as well as in other places. This older style threaded insulator is called the "Pilgrim Hat" style, and is the threaded version of the very rare threadless CD 736 E.R.W. 2" shallow base chip as can be seen in the photo, some flaking at the base, a number of dings and flakes here and there.
