Lot 148: CD 263 COLUMBIA [040] Color: Dark Blue Aqua Description: This insulator is embossed with the trade name "Columbia" as well as the date of Samuel Oakman's May 12, 1891 patent for "tie eyes," the feature that makes the Columbia style so unique! For the Hemingray-embossed variant, see lot 149. 1/4" open bubble on the base with a little skirt flaking, otherwise easily very near mint.
