Lot 136: CD 185 MINE INSULATOR [010] Color: Aqua Description: This "mine insulator" was produced by Hemingray and has the typical Hemingray-style stamped embossing. Mine insulators were used not only in mines, but to dead-end regular lines as well. Both of these situations tend to lead to more damage than usual, so many surviving mine insulators are not in very good shape. This example survived fairly well, with the typical flaking at the base of the pinhole, 1/4" flake at the left mold line, otherwise easily very near mint. Nice color density in the thick skirt areas! Estimate: $175 - $200 Open: $1 Price Realized: $242 |
