Lot 135: CD 166 CALIFORNIA [010] Color: Purple/Sage Green Two Tone Description: These two tone examples are very hard to find. Most of the effect here is concentrated in the dome, where there are large areas of Sage Green and a few wisps of Purple. This piece is unusual: You often find a base color of Sage Green with some Purple wisps, however this is the converse with a strong Purple base and Sage Green highlights in the dome. A pollywog in the dome is swimming over to investigate. There is a fracture that radiates out from the top of the threads. It does not continue to the outside of the glass. A number of little dings and scuffs here and there. The thick dome glass increases the contrast and amplifies the two tone effect. A very unusual and desirable piece for the California collector!
