It was used in a factory in Chelsea, MA for use as a large bus bar substation insulator. A handful of them, in various conditions, were recently removed. F.E. Getts was issued patent number 1,380,550 on June 7, 1921 for a bus bar sandwiched between two vertical clamping plates. An interesting combination of materials: the cap on the insulator appears to be cast iron, one of the plates is bronze, and the second plate is steel. Wonderful condition! An unusual and eye-catching piece of hardware! Estimate: $150 - $200 Open: $1 Price Realized: $908 |
