Lot 127: CD 263 COLUMBIA Color: Deep Aqua EIN: [050] Description: These "wide-eared variant" units were designed to carry a larger diameter cable than the "normal-eared" Columbia insulators. 1/8" open bubble on the base, otherwise very, very near mint. Samuel Oakman's May 12, 1891 patent for "tie eyes" appears on the front, along with the trade name "Columbia". As an extra bonus, there are a couple of amber threads floating across the top of the dome. If you want an example of this CD, why not get the more unusual wide-eared variant?
