Price Realized: $550
Lot 128: CD 194/195 HEMINGRAY-54 A/B Color: Ice Purple / Purple EIN: [010] Description: The bottom of this two-piece transposition is 1 13/16" tall. This was the shortest example in an informal comparison of seven units in our possession and a full 5/16" shorter than lot 129. View 3 contrasts this lot (shown on the left) with the tall example in lot 129. While these may not be the "shortest known" and "tallest known", they are significantly different in height. The bottom has a very uncommon light coloration we will call Ice Purple. Very, very near mint. The top is Purple. 1" base bruise/chip, 1/4" inner skirt chip, otherwise very near mint. This style of transposition insulator was found primarily in Florida. They were manufactured in the 1940s, as can be seen by the date codes. Estimate: $300 - $350 Open: $1 Price Realized: $550 |
