Lot 177
Price Realized: $330
Lot 177: CD 728 {Unembossed} Color: Light Aqua Description: Clean and shiny, and in really great condition! A chunk of the mold in the wire groove fell out, leaving a neat rough blob of glass. The CD 728 was most likely one of the last styles of threadless used in America, and dates from approximately the 1870s to 1880s. Glass insulators, including examples of this CD, were found as cargo on the wreck of the Civil War ship "General Sherman", which had returned to commercial use after the war and sunk in early 1874 off the North Carolina coast. A beautiful and shiny example! Estimate: $250 - $300 Open: $10 Price Realized: $330 |
