Lot 141
Price Realized: $105
Lot 141: CD 187 PATENT - OTHER Color: Light Aqua Description: A very crude and odd example where the bottom isn't even completely broken through. The "Brown's Pony" was patented by Robert G. Brown in 1886 and was designed for under-crossarm mounting on a duplex pin. Most of the threads are incompletely formed due to the presence of a large bubble in the pinhole. It was probably used, but one can wonder how it even screwed onto a pin. The piece is likely dug with dings, pings, haze and a rainbow-like patina. An insulator with a history! Estimate: $50 - $100 Open: $10 Price Realized: $105 |
