Lot 70: CD 143 {Unembossed} "Withycombe" {Canada} Color: Light Purple/Gray Two-Tone Description: Much better condition than most, with only minor flakes on the damage-prone sharp ridges. Frederick Withycombe patented a number of variations on ridges and other projections, all with the same intent: to better "withstand the impact of foreign bodies." There is a nice two-tone effect where more purple can be seen in the dome, blending down to gray in the skirt. A very attractive example! Estimate: $450 - $550 Open: $10 Price Realized: $880 |
