Lot 160: CD 317 CHAMBERS Color: "Green" Description: Excellent condition for this style! No chips or flakes on the saddle groove, no flakes on the base, not even the typical annealing fissures around the pinhole. Much darker than "Light Green." Josephus Chambers patented "An Improvement in Lightning Rods and Insulators" on August 14, 1877, and this "Candlestick" insulator was used along with the "Chambers Companion" (CD 132.4, as can be seen in lot 159) as part of his lightning rod system.
