Lot 50: CD 135.5 E.R.W. Color: Blue Description: 3/4" base flake, 1/8" wire ridge flake, otherwise very near mint. An interesting overpour on the skirt yields a thin, extended base that the insulator sits on, as can be seen in the photo. Boldly embossed "E.R.W." for the Erie Railway, these insulators were used on the main line, as well as in other places. This is called the "Pilgrim Hat" style, and it is also found as an early threadless insulator. The threaded version is also an older style, and the overpour adds to the interest in this piece!
