Lot 167: CD 252 KNOWLES / No 2 CABLE Color: Yellow Green w/ Amber Swirls Description: 1" base flake on the rear, 1/4" potstone stress line, 1/4" ear flake, otherwise easily very near mint. C.S. Knowles registered the "emerald" trademark for electrical glass, which he called "Emerald Glass." This "prism" emblem appears on many of his insulators, and it is very pronounced in this example; one can see all the subtleties of the facets. The company supplied electrical construction material in the early 1900's. See lot 168 for a CD 253 companion. Quite an attractive insulator for sure!
