Lot 98
Price Realized: $330
Lot 98: CD 134 DIAMOND P Color: Fizzy Gray Blue Description: 3" thin base flake with associated open bubble and a few other little blemishes. It is likely that the "P in a diamond" logo refers to James Pennycuick, who designed a unique method for "forming screw threads on glass" while leaving the plunger in place during annealing. The date of his patent, August 11, 1885, is embossed on the rear. Strong fizz gives this insulator a bit of a translucent effect and contributes to its more unique color toning. Estimate: $500 - $600 Open: $10 Price Realized: $330 |
