Lot 68: CD 121 C.D.P. & T. CO. Color: Light Yellow Olivey Green Description: 3/8" base flake/chip in the rear, 3/4" base flake, otherwise very, very near mint. The Central District & Printing Telegraph Company was started in May 1874. After the invention of the telephone, the company became a licensee of the American Telephone and Telegraph Company in the Western Pennsylvania area. The "printing telegraph" allowed the transmission of messages through a keyboard without requiring a telegrapher who was trained in Morse code.
