Lot 238: Brookfield "Salesman's Sample" {CD 162 style} Color: Light Aqua Description: 1" diameter and 1 1/4" tall. This is quite a small insulator. Shown next to a CD 145 for a size comparison in view 1. Great condition! Boldly embossed on the skirt with "BROOKFIELD" on the front and "STANDARD" on the rear. Weaker crown embossing reads "WESTERN" on the front and "ELEC.CO." on the rear. These were produced by Brookfield. They are referred to as "salesman's samples" in the hobby but their real purpose is not known; perhaps they were promotional items. In any case, they are extremely difficult to come by!
