Lot 225: San Francisco Wooden Trolley Insulator Color: Brown Description: {Round dome} Lignum Vitae wood. A flake on the skirt and a chip on the wire ridge, perhaps associated with a little splitting of the wood. The majority of insulators used on the trolley system were the "saddle groove" style (as shown in lot 223, lot 224 and lot 226) which was used for the straight runs. The "round dome" style was only needed for going around corners and is much scarcer. The two will contrast well in your San Francisco trolley insulator lineup!
