Lot 197: CD 723.3 {Unembossed Wade} Color: Blue Description: Very good condition with typical minor flaking on the base and a 1/2" base bruise. These early threadless insulators were produced around the 1860's and were designed for use with a wooden "shield" to prevent "Indian depredations", as reported in trade journals.
