Lot 43: CD 106 PATENT / MAY 2, 1893 {Hemingray product} Color: Aqua Description: Very near mint. An interesting embossing variation produced by Hemingray: one side has no embossing where the HEMINGRAY / No 9 should be! One could speculate that they were sloppy and forgot to stamp half of the embossing; however, another theory is that one side of the mold became damaged and they needed to swap it out as quickly as possible so as not to hold up production.
