Lot 127: CD 135 CHICAGO INSULATING CO. Color: Blue Description: {Shoulder embossed} A little scuffing on the dome, some pings and flakes here and there. This is the classic "Diamond Groove" insulator produced by the Chicago Insulating Company. The diamond-shaped wire groove was patented on October 16, 1883 by Fiske & Mott, it's goal being to decrease contact between the tie wire and the insulator. A unique design for sure!
