Lot 55

Lot 55: CD 143 DWIGHT PATTERN Color: Deep Light Purple Description: Excellent condition! Harvey Prentice Dwight, while born in Belleville, NY, became heavily involved in the telegraph industry in Canada, from the last half of the 1800s to the early years of the 1900s, beginning in Belleville, Ontario. The "DWIGHT PATTERN" variation of the CD 143 is quite a bit shorter than a "standard" example. The embossing is very off-center on this insulator. The main view actually has the right mold line facing you and you can clearly see the embossing on either side. The front and rear of the insulator can be seen in view 2 and view 3. This insulator is a beautiful shade of deep purple, somewhere between light purple and medium purple. A very rare and desirable color for this piece, seldom seen for sale! (#0148) Estimate: $500 - $600 Open: $200 Price Realized: $1,760 |
