Lot 5: CD 736.7 {Unembossed} Color: Dark Emerald Green Description: Two 1/2" areas of base chipping and a few smaller areas, 1" wide slice from the base to the wire ridge, all in the rear. May have been lightly tumble cleaned. Because of their large size, examples of the CD 736.7 often have internal fractures from annealing or from stress. This one is perfect in that regard. Nicknamed the "Jumbo Pilgrim Hat," this is a massive insulator that is 5" tall and 4" in diameter, weighing in at an incredible 3 pounds! This is the largest pintype threadless insulator known, and it will stand out in your lineup. Some believe they were used at river crossings where a stronger, more robust insulator was needed.
