Lot 47
Price Realized: $633
Lot 47: CD 134 DIAMOND P Color: Bright Glowing Apple Green Description: Two small areas of wire ridge flaking on the rear, otherwise very very near mint. It is likely that the "P in a diamond" logo refers to James Pennycuick, who designed a unique method for "forming screw threads on glass" while leaving the plunger in place during annealing. The date of his patent, August 11, 1885, is embossed on the rear. A stunning color, much more desirable than the typical aqua shades, and standing out more than even your basic green examples! (#0401) Estimate: $800 - $1,000 Open: $50 Price Realized: $633 |
