Lot 44
Price Realized: $308
Lot 44: CD 134 DIAMOND P Color: Fizzy, Milky, Snowy Aqua Description: The only significant damage is a base chip in the front. It is likely that the "P in a diamond" logo refers to James Pennycuick, who designed a unique method for "forming screw threads on glass" while leaving the plunger in place during annealing. The date of his patent, August 11, 1885, is embossed on the rear. This piece has some of everything: small fizzy bubbles, larger elongated bubbles, "snow" (pieces of fire brick), and even milky veils well-centered in the front! All of these characteristics add up to give the insulator a jade-like appearance. A fantastic character piece that you rarely see, so don't miss your opportunity to own this beauty!
