Lot 196: CD 317 CHAMBERS Color: Fizzy Lime Green Description: Nearly all "candlesticks" are prone to chipping and wear in the saddle groove, as well as flaking around the base. This one is just about perfect! Josephus Chambers patented "An Improvement in Lightning Rods and Insulators" in 1877, and followed it up with patents for a variety of other uses for his invention. In this fantastic example of a Chambers "candlestick", you can see fizz throughout the glass, intensified in the dome by the low pinhole. You will rarely encounter such an outstanding specimen!
