Lot 155: CD 104 STANDARD GLASS Color: Light Blue Description: 1/2" base flake removes several letters, potstone spider on the dome. One can clearly see the mold marks left in the threads from the collapsible plunger, an invention of Lawrence B. Gray, a mold maker from Boston. Note that this piece is tougher to acquire than the "NATIONAL" base-embossed example. The Standard Glass Insulator Company (1893-1894) advertised itself as "Manufacturers of Glass Insulators by Lawrence B. Gray's Patent Process."
