Lot 1: CD 176 WHITALL TATUM "Mushroom" Color: Straw Description: Just a "titch" away from mint! Leon T. Wilson patented this design in 1925, calling it a “low loss insulator.” Whitall Tatum produced small numbers of these reportedly experimental insulators, and they were tested in New Jersey along with other insulator styles to compare their insulating performance. A unique shape and a difficult CD to acquire as they rarely come up for sale. The classic “Mushroom” is a must for the CD collector!
