Lot 5
Price Realized: $4,400
Lot 5: CD 124.1 PATENT DEC. 19, 1871 Color: Icy Green Description: Crudely made with a little flaking on the inside of the skirt due to an overpour. A few little scuffs here and there. Overall this insulator is in fantastic condition given its age. Most of these insulators have been found in Colorado, an area where many early “1871” insulators seem to have been used. This has always been a rare “1871” piece, and in 2001 Mr. N.R. Woodward assigned it a new CD number, making it very desirable for the CD collector. An extremely rare insulator which is difficult to acquire; CD and Hemingray collectors take note! (#0482) Estimate: $3,000 - $4,000 Open: $1 Price Realized: $4,400 |
