Lot 228: Mt. Washington Ramshorn Color: (Glass insert) Green Description: Some typical chipping around the base. This ramshorn style is referred to as the Mt. Washington (New Hampshire) type because they were used at the weather observatory at that location in the 1870’s. This style is characterized by a metal hook encased in glass which, in turn, is encased in iron. The glass comes in a range of colors including clear, straw, green, cobalt blue, and amber.
